Correct. CUSA puts both men's & women's in 1 site for ONLY 2 reasons. The site is close to the conference HQ so it's convenient to the front office staff, and they don't want to spend money for 2 separate tournaments. I would prefer you schedule the WBB tourney like the CAA, in that it's at a conference school site. They you know you can at least draw the local fans then.
I'll go one farther and say they should put both men's and women's tournaments on campuses.

Generally, I'm not a fan of holding the men's tournament on someone's campus, but the lack of fan interest in this conference all but requires it if you want an atmosphere worthy of a D1 basketball conference tournament.

Or at least in a city where a CUSA school is located. Charlotte or Nashville are really the only ones that make sense unless you rotate places

I don't even know if those locations would draw any fans. Norfolk and Birmingham would probably do better.

Here's a proposal. Rotate the tournament between all league members with the stipulation that you have to have been in the top 5 for attendance the previous season in order to host. That way you ensure that the tournament is at least in a city where there is some fan interest and create an incentive for lower attendance schools to work on improving.

It’s been in Birmingham and it didn’t draw well. Charlotte and Atlanta would probably be the best two sites available, as both are easy to travel to.

The attendance stipulation is a bad idea, because it’s going to be the same 5 schools:
ODU
Marshall
UTEP
WKU
Charlotte

So if ODU is the overall number one seed and hosted in the last three years, they could end up going on the road to somewhere like UTEP, which is pretty trash

If campus sites were the way to go, I would look at allowing the highest seed to host the whole tourney.
