I think the real player who has "fences to mend" is Rice. Instead of cancelling ahead of the season, they're essentially just punting the decision to not play throughout the whole season.

ODU gave their conference-mates time to reschedule games and most of the teams we inconvenienced were able to replace our game (and usually with an attractive match-up). Rice is giving their conference-mates zero time to find replacements.

The bottom line is, ODU made a tough decision but made it in time for the conference to be able to respond. Now that decision may not be convenient to you politically, but ODU made the decision responsibly and I honestly don't think the conference will seriously hold that against them.

Majority are past CUSA ADs who were mediocre at best, who have always had other staffers to be the detail-oriented ones. They are basically in charge of running championship events, and all reports I've heard coming from multiple conference schools is they are a walking circus.

Correct. CUSA puts both men's & women's in 1 site for ONLY 2 reasons. The site is close to the conference HQ so it's convenient to the front office staff, and they don't want to spend money for 2 separate tournaments. I would prefer you schedule the WBB tourney like the CAA, in that it's at a conference school site. They you know you can at least draw the local fans then.

I'll go one farther and say they should put both men's and women's tournaments on campuses.

Generally, I'm not a fan of holding the men's tournament on someone's campus, but the lack of fan interest in this conference all but requires it if you want an atmosphere worthy of a D1 basketball conference tournament.
