Yes the defending national champs who lost 31 players and both coordinators. I get it though and you're right. But lsu shouldn't have been that high to begin with. And I'll give MSU credit it was impressive and they deserve to be ranked but from NR all the way to 5? Has a jump that big ever happened?

In 2008, ECU jumped from unranked (#27) to #14 in the AP poll after defeating #8 WVU 24-3. That's the biggest jump I know of.
