I didn't say they end up as multiple cases. I said the media reports test results as cases. They conflate the data.
It's actually very simple to understand, if you pay attention to the data and how it is reported by the media.
States report positive test results. Go to any state website and that is what you see, very clearly stated.
The media goes to these sites and gets the same data. But they report it as positive cases.
For example, whenever Shelby Co gets a large batch of positive tests back, the tv stations will state the "new surge in CASES" and cite the data. Every single one of them.

But if you still don't follow the logic, just look at what the CDC says.
