If you make some things mandatory, they're much more likely to listen.
Ummmm, you must not have kids. Young people rebel to the word mandatory. Lol
Unfortunately so do some adults. A national standard, plan, approach, whatever you want to call it, is needed. And it should include fines for offenders. We're never going to be rid of this thing as long as people don't take it seriously.
I'm beginning to doubt we're going to have college football. Do you continue to have meetings with position coaches? What if half of the QBs are diagnosed as positive.....half your secondary is on quarantine....the bulk of your offensive or defensive line? How do you have social distancing on a soccer field during a corner kick? or at the net for volleyball. Originally I was thinking maybe tennis or golf could be okay, but look how even pro golf has individuals who must quarantine. Aside from the stupidity at Alabama or the 100 frat boys at the Univ. of Washington, how do you control athletes' interactions with the general student population?
Sad thing is, had leaders taken this thing with the same level of seriousness as Canada and European countries, we probably would be having a real shot at having college football in the fall. They are already playing soccer in Europe and Korea has been playing baseball since May. The individual states setting different agendas for a global pandemic will never work. The longer we continue with this strategy, the longer we will have Covid-19. That's a fact.
^ this is spot on. I'd also add New Zealand, Australia, Japan, S. Korea..
