I'd be shocked if football isn't dropped sooner rather than later. Good luck recruiting to that dumpster fire. Edsall's last stop.

That will allow them to drop numerous women's sports due to the number of scholarships and will go a long way toward allowing them solvency.

They must maintain 14 sports to remain Division 1 in basketball...so they would only be able to cut one women's sport. Realistically, UConn should just look at Villanova and go "man, we really shouldn't have gotten into the football arms race."

There are major differences between the two. UConn is a 27,000 student public flagship university. Nova is an 11,000 student Catholic University.

UConn's FB program was horribly managed.

That said UConn would be best served by dropping to FCS as would UMass.
