HS teams are still planning to play. Universities are still going back to class and having students live in dorms. People will be in close proximity to each other for much longer than you would be on a football field and they won’t be regularly tested. I know Rice doesn’t have the will to do it but we should take advantage of this and play as many games as possible. Leebron isn’t bold enough to make any real progress for the university though.

What’s going to change by spring?

A vaccine will be approved by December. Health care workers, those with chronic illnesses, and the elderly will be vaccinated first. The mere presence of an approved vaccine will reduce the fear and anxiety associated with this virus significantly.

You're dreaming....or still listening to Trump. The timeline simply doesn't add up to approval by December. (See my previous post above.) And fear and anxiety associated with the virus will not be significantly reduced until those people have been vaccinated, which again, is a two-step, two-month process.

Not necessarily. Trial subjects get the vaccine and testing of the response will be ongoing (collecting data) from the enrollment of the subjects. There is an exception to waiting for approval. If the initial results show a very good response and protection which significantly deviates from the control group, then the vaccine will be approved during the trial as it shows significant benefit without significant risk. In other words, if the vaccine clearly works, it will be approved quickly after the first dose was given. Just repeating what I have heard about approval of these sorts of things.
