Remember that I've said for years the goals should be to be Navy in football, Gonzaga in basketball, and Rice (when Rice was Rice) in baseball?

By my count, Navy checks in at #36 in the above poll. How many of us would be unhappy if Rice checked in at #36 in the USA TODAY Preseason Poll? And obviously we'd be ecstatic with being where Gonzaga is now in basketball. And we know we can go to Omaha because we've done that a few times.

Those would still be my goals if I were made AD tomorrow. I don't think any of them are goals of the current administration. Which is, of course, why Rice would never hire me as AD.
