They're held up as an example because they are the only major nation that bucked the trends on lockdowns, masks, etc. They are basically the control to this massive social experiment that has been conducted which makes their results relevant in assessing these policies.

I keep wondering how they were able to buck the trend and then stay the course even when things started to go south. I would love to have been a fly on the wall during their COVID-19 policy discussions.
