I fully understand that treatments are becoming more and more refined, and so there is an advantage to delaying our own moment for enjoying this latest gift from mainland China. And each of us should have the right to keep ourselves confined from it for as long as our own safety assessment warrants. But, for those of us - - ignorant as we are - - who have had all we can bear, are we nevertheless stuck with someone else's declaration that we must continue to hide from what is inevitable anyway? How long do we need to let our federal/state masters decide what they will "allow" us to do in our daily work and recreational lives?

I am honestly curious if there are some who think that this "mommy, may I" situation should be allowed to continue. It is wrong regardless of whether it is an orange idiot or a blackface suck up who happens to be the one imposing the rules upon the rest of us.

Well said. I am very concerned about the level of authoritarian some of our politicians have adopted, the fact that our courts don't seem willing to address the constitutional crisis that they are creating, the lack of engagement from legislatures and councils from the US House to state legislatures, and even city councils in holding the executives accountable, and the willingness of so much of the population to happily give their individual liberty away at a time when they should be most vigilant about protecting their God given rights.

It has been sad 1000 times in a hundred different ways, that the time to most fiercely defend our constitutional rights is when they are attacked under the guise of protection. I am astounded at the total lack of understanding, and respect for the underlying foundation that made this country great. What we are seeing right now is the effects of years of an education system that has been corrupted, and no longer educates students on what The Constitution means, what civic responsibility means, what core values made this the greatest, most prosperous, most generous nation that the world has ever seen. I hope, but certainly without holding my breath, that this shitshow will spark a sense of reflection in people that leads us to re-examine the path we have been on for the past several decades with regard to our founding principles.
