It is simple IMO. The system is way too complex for college kids, especially college kids accustomed to AAU ball. How many layups and wide open threes did we give up because we were confused on whether we were switching or not? Truthfully. I see a lot of effort from our players. I see a lot of your and a ton of sloppiness with turnovers but I see tremendous effort more often than not.

So, yes, I do believe most of our issues are coaching. The staff is as confused as our players on the court. Again, they have no identity. But it is clear that our players can not consistently run the system in place. It is built for NBA players and we have two or maybe three of those on our roster. So we have a system that is not designed for the vast majority of the team and it shows. Penny has to design a hybrid between his NBA system and more traditional college systems.
