This is basically the most true statement that can be said about Penny.

He's slightly better than most non-Memphis fans expected. He wasn't a complete failure.

He's also not the home run that Memphis fans were hoping. He's an average coach with great recruiting. So far (in the very limited time he's had) his results haven't blown anyone away. They also haven't been laughable and 75% of the D1 schools would love to have the results he's gotten.

Over the past two years, the Tigers are 3 and 1 against WSU.

WSU - NIT Final Four and the right side of the bubble last year
Memphis - Bounced early in the NIT - Wrong side of the bubble last year

Beating two of WSU's worst teams in the last decade is a pretty low bar for the god Penny.

Fact: Penny > Marshall head to head. Carry on.

Fact: Post Season Accomplishments Marshall > Penny ... Carry on.
