He earned everything through God given talent carefully cultivated with drive, ambition, and hard work. He brings these same traits to his present job.


I agree his overall life was very difficult. He like many players has a talent and work ethic that got him to the NBA. He was coaching high school, but How much coaching experience does he have? The only person who may have less is Aaron McKie in the AAC, but he was an assistant coach for the 76ers. Penny has done well, but I do think he shouldn’t be a head coach without more experience. Penny sure can recruit and already has a nice winning percentage.

The notion that Penny is a dilettante out of his depth should be retired permanently. His first two years results were better than both Sampson’s and Marshall’s first two seasons at Washington St and WSU, respectively.
