I think to become truly competitive, you guys need to keep landing NC high school studs like Gardner and this kid. Would be cool to see you guys build a nationally relevant team with a heavy NC presence too. Hope you guys can land him.

I agree. Landing Pettiford will help us in the short term, but we've got to be able to be a consistent player in recruiting North Carolina kids. Gardner wasn't offered by any of the ACC schools in-state... and he's incredible. Pettiford hasn't either... yet. We'll see how strong of a bond he has with the coaching staff if say, Wake Forest or NC State come calling. (Because I don't think Duke or UNC will.)

Pretty good transfer from Cary, NC is out there. ECU wasn’t in on him, Houston is in his final 4 schools. I just don’t understand why UH has more inroads in the state of NC than ECU. The only connection we have to the state is it being Sampson’s home state.

We really need you guys to start keeping some of these good players in state. You guys really need to land a Nate Hinton or Caleb Mills to get the momentum rolling.
