No it is not in the actual court of law sense - however it is a court of public opinion trial.

If congress actually does file articles of impeachment - the Senate will turn it into a trial.

IMO what Trump has done is no worse (or better) than any of the shenanigans from the people in congress who are judging him now - they all know it too.

That is why congress will never finish this by filing articles - they will then be exposed to a republican controlled narrative and that will not be good for them - any of them.

The bold is the one and only reason the D's are doing this impeachment nonsense. They know they have nothing on Trump with regard to actual impeachment and that it will eventually go nowhere; however, they are counting on their followers not caring about that and believing all the nonsense coming Nov 2020. This is all political theater. I'm just glad more and more people are seeing it for what it is.
