That’s a good question. I think this was/is Year 5 of 5 for Ike. I’m guessing we extend him for 1 more year.

Personally hope he doesn't get an extra year. I know that seems harsh, but I just haven't seen much improvement over his years. The OOC record this year I believe is misleading, similar to what happened last year. We started like 15-7 with 3 of those losses to a top 10 louisville team, but did not perform in conference.

This is a team that has the resources to be a consistent top 2 or 3 in the conference. Keep in mind, a lot of the league doesn't even fill full scholarship allotment for baseball. Hopefully this was just someone doing Ikenberry a solid so that he can retire with a better pension and both parties move on.

No way I would 'fire' a coach when he/she has not been given a chance to play the season and all signs pointed in the 'right' direction.
