How come the men's team does not go to tournaments/events like the Lady Dukes
in softball?
Does baseball not have them?

We play at UVA on 3/24.
Quinnipiac played in the NCAAs last year beating ECTC in the Greenville regional before being knocked out by ECTC later in that regional.

The new turf looks amazing.
Got some pitching to replace, hopefully the younger arms are ready to take that step forward this year. Offense should be 2-3 runs better per game barring any weird injuries this season.

I'm pretty confident that opening weekend series at NC State will be streamed live via ACC Network Extra. Same for the 1 weeknight road game at UVA and the weekend series later on at Pitt.
The way it reads has the logo in center field. Glad that's not the case.

Did anyone see the preseason CAA ranking? Did a quick look on CAA website and I could not find it anywhere.
For those closer to the program, do you think we should have a better team this season?
This year is put up or shut up for Ike, correct? Personally I don't expect too much of a difference from previous years. Last year we were 31-26 and 11-13 in conference.
I am hoping for improvement, but cautiously optimistic.
I think the offense will be better. Lost some a lot of innings from pitchers.....I think the arm talent is there, but some younger guys will need to step up. The pitching will probably not be as good but should improve as the season goes and everyone adjust to their new roles.
I like the schedule. It's tougher than last few years, but I like it. Hopefully, the OOC scheduling will help prepare these guys. We open with 3 at NC State, a perennial strong program (at times top 10). We also travel to 3 other ACC programs during the season...UVA, VPI&SU and a weekend 3 at Pitt. All of those games will be tough.

We should know by now what we are getting from Coach Ike. Looking at his long history at VMI, they were nothing special. Same goes for his time at JMU.
I agree with the rankings this time- 6th place finish sounds right. I don't see us placing any higher than 5th.

Given the pitching JMU lost this seems about right as folks base a lot of baseball polls on returning pitching. The offense and defense should be fine.......time for some young pitchers to step up this year. We did not know that much about Perkins and Robertson at this time last year.
