Its risky to take on a new guy too, but I think thats the better bet by far at this point. Any high school coach out there could have gotten the same results we've seen so far this year.

Im on the fine with Bobby leaving train, but I find it incredibly short sighted to call a 5-7 season in the first full year of FBS play being a stinker.

Our success early on made it appear that moving up level (first to FCS, then to CAA, then to FBS) is a lot easier than it actually is.

The 2018 season was the first truly disappointing season where the team could be reasonably expected to perform better. That was the 5th full season in CUSA with actual players that went 4-5 years in the program. That was a totally unacceptable season. Now, backing it up with a year that was already expected to be a rebuilding year makes it even worse.

I would feel better paying more money and getting a different coach (hopefully one that runs a good program like Bobby does) but I think its pretty ignorant to think that there is no chance that Bobby can be successful at this level. They are one of the most impressive startups in history; both at the FCS and FBS levels. It was impressive to win as many games as they did in the first 5 years.

I think 2017 was just as disappointing, if not more so.
We had just come off a 10-3 season and a bowl win.
The last of our FCS players had aged out and we were finally fully FBS personnel wise.
Our excellent recruiting class of 2014 were Seniors or RS Juniors.
On paper, this should have been our best team.

But, we had to replace an all conference QB. I can see some disappointment in that season, but it was the first full recruiting cycle and they were 1 win from a bowl game. I could see the argument bc Bentley was supposed to be our QB. That was somewhat disappointing; 2018 was a trainwreck.
