It's the cost of doing business. It's a common practice across the nation. There are meals, other bonding events, and multiple meetings. Everybody under one roof. And coaches will sit down with individual players to go over things.

If you don't do what most other schools do (hotel stays, chartered flights, gear handouts, etc.) you will never get the recruits or coaches you want.

This is just not true. People keep repeating that over and over but bottom line is this practice is being questioned and criticized across the country.

That quote was from a neurologist study.
P5 do it and are being criticized for the millions of dollars spent. Not all CUSA teams do this. We spent about 25K per game. We’re just trying to act like a P5 but we sure don’t play like one. We spent millions on on campus facilities that do exactly what you are claiming the reason we should go off campus. Across industries organizations stopped holding off site meets to save the wasted money. It’s a total waste at ODU, and I don’t buy you won’t get recruits if you don’t do this stupid pregame practice.
