Finally, the premise of the new P12 includes BYU, which really is religious. TCU is like Tulsa and Davidson, meaning it's just associated with the disciples of Christ, it has nothing to do with the curriculum, nor any honor code; it's only nominally religious, it doesn't even have a Divinity department, let alone school. So if BYU is in, why not TCU?

Iowa State really has no value compared to more coverage of Texas. Besides I am pretty sure Texas would insist on TCU over ISU for this to happen. (So dump Baylor, West Virginia, Iowa State).

Because it was my representative (not definitive) alignment and I know the SEC wants a presence in DFW. T.C.U. with A&M seemed logical if Tech is off with UT to the PAC. That's really the long and short of it. Hardly worth the discussion.

I suppose if T.C.U. went to the PAC that the SEC would have to select between Miami and West Virginia. But really neither would add much if the SEC had F.S.U. and Florida covering 80% of Florida's relative markets and Virginia Tech essentially covering much, but not all of WVU's market. TCU seemed logical.

UT and Tech offer the SEC the #1 and #3 largest fan bases in Texas with the SEC already have the 2nd largest fan base in A&M.

Texas Tech won't have a problem with revenue or budgets in the SEC.

The Big 12 leftovers (WVU, KU, KSU, ISU, TCU and Baylor) can invite the best of the AAC and MWC and that would be a true tweener conference.

I was merely tendering an answer to a question of what it would take to land Texas and Oklahoma in the PAC. That conclusion is not logical or likely. And I still see the likely end game the same way. If the SEC cannot land Texas and Oklahoma, we will likely want Texas and Tech. It's too much upside for a content driven marketplace to ignore.
