Keep living in your own fantasy world while the rest of us live in reality. I also updated the post to further prove how ignorant you are.

The media market that includes Marshall's stretches into Kentucky and Ohio. I doubt those states are interested in supporting Marshall.

I honestly didn't know Murfreesboro was that close to Nashville. I will correct that part of my post. Thank you for pointing it out.

WKU went 3-9 last season. That is the definition of "no current success".

Why are you even bringing up basketball. This is all about football.

I hate to break this to you, but the AAC actually cares about basketball. That is why UNT has bigger issues getting an invite than just SMU. You'll have to do better than scheduling 10 cupcakes to inflate your basketball record.

Aresco has made it very clear that football drives the bus. So, any program where their basketball team is better than their football team is going to have a harder time convincing the AAC they are the right fit.

Here are two direct quotes from Aresco regarding his beliefs about what qualities are important in any prospective candidates....

“The business model for college sports in the modern era essentially says that if you’re going to be in it at the highest level, you need to be all in with football. It’s just that simple,” Aresco said. “We want to be good in men’s and women’s basketball as well, but football has lifted everybody and everything else in this conference. We wouldn’t have the TV deal we have if it weren’t for football."

Football is critical. And if somebody has a different view of it, they’re probably not a good fit for the conference.”

Those are probably more jabs at UCONN than talking about prospective additions. But they would look at a lot of factors and yes good football and attendance would be crucial. They’ll probably look at more than just the last two years too.
