C-USA is not the best conference North Texas has ever been in. UNT was in the Missouri Valley Conference from 1957-1974. UNT won five conference titles in football during our time in the Valley. These were the other conference members.

North Texas
Cincinnati
Houston
Memphis
Louisville
New Mexico State
Tulsa
Wichita State

It was a great basketball conference and a good football conference too.

I'll go ahead and restate my original comment... North Texas didn't escape the Sun Belt on Charlotte's back.

North Texas was playing football and basketball long before little Charlotte ever started playing college sports. In fact North Texas was playing college sports long before C-USA or the Sun Belt even existed, so we never needed any help from Charlotte. But, I look forward to watching North Texas destroy little Charlotte in October. You're welcome. 05-mafia

No. North Texas has been to 4 bowls since joining C-USA 6 years ago, and posted back to back 9 win seasons. Charlotte football has produced no winning seasons, been to no bowls, and basically done nothing to help improve this conference. Although we may be in the same conference, we appear to be very far apart in where we are as programs.


Bet it doesn’t take us 100 years to win two bowl games.
