On the one hand, the one that is "the most hated nationally" have to be personally hated by many people personally in order to qualify ...
... but on the other hand, the people on the board may well not be a representative sample.

On the gripping hand, to a large extent the national list will line up closely with a list of the most successful teams of the recent past, sometimes bumped up a bit by a particularly ferocious rivalry.

Hating a school is one reason to love beating them, but not the only one ... you can love beating them without hating them.
