I dont know if this has been brought up recently? Some of these descriptions are hilarious.

A few good ones:

Quote:— Ohio State Buckeyes: The Urban Meyer/Zach Smith debacle of 2018, plus Brutus the Buckeye is the most ridiculous mascot in all the land. I mean, it’s a nut with a face on it.

Quote:— Notre Dame Fighting Irish: They haven’t been relevant since Sean Astin starred as Rudy Ruettiger in that 1993 movie, yet they act like because they have Touchdown Jesus that they’re somehow special.

Quote:— USC Trojans: The pretty boys on the West Coast still won’t move on from Pete Carroll’s team in the 2000s. There’s not much to see in the Pac-12 these days, especially at USC.

And I'll cast my obvious vote for Michigan.

Others I would say I dont so much hate, but, just really dislike are:

Tennessee
Louisville
Miami
Minnesota
There might be plenty of reasons to hate ND, but relevancy isn't one of them. Being in a BCS and CFP games in the last decade really put that to bed.

cubucks, I'd love to know why you dislike a team a irrelevant as UTN as been in the last 30 years.

Lots of people hate ND and are not going to give ND credit for anything, ever.

That is just the way it is.

If they win, they were lucky or the other team lost the game.

If they do well in a season, even go undefeated, it is only because the teams on their schedule were down or they got lucky.

They can do well, as you noted, but that will always be downplayed.

ND fans realize this and don't get too worked up about it.

Embrace the Hate.
I think Bob Stoops did a lot to clean off the residual "Barry Switzer" off the Sooners. A TV news reporter from OKC told me that they buried a lot of dirt during the Switzer years.

I was surprised Texas didn't rate higher. A college sports official once said that the state of Texas has a lot of great people...but not when you step inside the UT athletic department offices (in all fairness, that was during the DeLoss Dodds era).

With Tennessee it's more fan hate than school hate. I know that's not fair, it just is what it is. It's an arrogant thing with Tennessee and I just despise that in them.

I look at teams like Michigan, Texas, Georgia and Tennessee. They all have this arrogance about them and really no reason to be? I mean, what is it that any of these schools have done recently to warrent this? Yes Georgia played in the CFP but so have Oklahoma, Michigan State and Florida State and I dont feel like any of them carry this arrogance.

It's all just simply opinion!

Notre Dame, I didn't make the comments about them, the article did.
Here's the thing though, Notre Dame would rather be winning titles than being runner up.

I remember the BCS days and Ohio State getting completely bashed about their National Title game losses. I know how fans of Notre Dame feel when it comes to being runner up. On the other hand though, I know how it feels to see Ohio State win a title in both the BCS and CFP.

If you know anything about me though, you'll see that I'm the first to congratulate a school on here Regardless if I like them or not.

What's success? Is it winning National titles or just winning 9-10 games a year? I believe it's more the latter and you can be successful without having an arrogant fan base that never stops running their mouths.
North Carolina - all sports.

Kentucky basketball and Duke basketball.

These schools make a mockery of the term "student-athlete." Sure, some other schools do too, but they're the worst of the worst.

I can see your points on the basketball side, the thread is more about football.

With Duke, I really have nothing against them. I just dont get how they can be so successful yet so squeaky clean. They are either the greatest of miracles in recruiting the right way or they are the best of the best at hiding their sins. I'll also say that cheating happens everywhere...because cheating does happen everywhere!

Agree with what you're saying, TeryyD.

Also, as with many NCAA teams, college football is so much better having Notre Dame and their history a player in it.

Duke and Kentucky are on my list for the 1-and-done strategy. The kids only have to pass 1 semester of classes.

College sports is at its greatest when the vast majority of players go to classes like normal students.

Lol, Switzer always reminded me of a used car salesman. You just knew he was dirty! With that said, I loved listening to him talk, guy is hilarious.

This one seems random; why us?

My most hated team is that purple place down the road in Conway, AR. The one with that horrendous purple and gray striped football field.
TSISB (hint: South Bend) - although it's mostly because the media fawns all over them and practically drools on them, and also the general self-importance of the fans. And I wonder how many of them will ask if we are Division I when we play them.

We don't have any real rivalries in the MAC so there is nobody else that I can't stand, even Toledo, whom I jokingly refer to as the Non-rivals since they refuse to be rivals of NIU - they already have BG.

Hint: his response will involve moving half of Division 2 into the Sun Belt

Thank you. I wasn’t aware of any other Wonder Boys here
If I had one team that I rooted for, I would want them to be most hated team ever. Because that would mean they won an awful lot.

Good way of looking at it.
