Northeastern has over 20,000 students with no football program. Basketball is their marquee sport.

William and mary has about 9,000 students and tries to field a competitive football program.

Shouldn't be a problem for NE to come up with the funding.

Hockey is their marquee sport.
I stand corrected. Curious what their budget is for hockey? I can't imagine that they spend more on hockey than basketball.

More scholarships involved. Their hockey team draws more than twice the number of fans than does the hoops team.
