Arguably the main reason the 2011 deal is better is because it would have been received in 2011. Leaving aside the time value of money, it would have meant collecting that amount every year for the past 8 seasons, before even a dollar of the hypothetical 2020 deal would be earned.

Not that an offer from 2011 has anything to do with this new deal, as it doesn't.
