RE: AAC and ESPN Exclusive Negotiating Window?
All the talk about UConn moving a sponsored sport, in this case basketball to another conference but remaining a partial member of the AAC is the difference between P5 and G5. No P5 conference would entertain such a notion by a member school. It is either all in or all out. The G5 conferences are not united in direction, vision, or outcome. None of the G5 conferences have a GOR. All of the P5 conferences do. 4 of the 5 P5 conferences will have a network as of this summer. And Texas a member of the other has their own network.

If the AAC wants to make itself into the P6 conference they need to act like one. Use a GOR to maximize this contract. Partner with ESPN for promotion of the conference. And get all your members pulling together in the same direction. ESPN is a strategic partner for the conference. If you worry strictly about the dollars, you will have a little more now and a lot less in the future.
