this is why many millennials are scared to death.....they grew up watching this happen all over the country....

wealth division in ~30 yrs will hit critical mass....maybe before then....

They've compared the Lincoln/Douglas debates when much more of the population was illiterate and it was night and day compared to current debates. Theirs' had a much higher level of language and vocabulary.

case in point....

Quote:Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the 29-year-old Congress freshman from New York, clapped back at longtime Democrat turned Independent Joe Lieberman after he said she wasn't the future of the party. "New party, who dis?" Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter in response to Lieberman's criticism.

You boys are late to the game. In the late 70's the birth rate was very similar if you were looking at race, income, and age of first birth. Back then the average Hispanic in the U.S. gave birth at 15.5 years of age and would have 5 children on average in her lifetime. The average African American woman gave birth at age 17 and would have 3 children in her lifetime. The average Caucasian woman would have her first child at 21 and would have 1.5 children in her lifetime. Birth rates for all 3 races declined when average household income went up. In 1979 the projection for the timeline in which Hispanics passed African Americans as the leading minority in this country was around 2032. At the rate of immigration in the late 70's plus the birth rate, and factoring in the average age at which women in that demographic started families it was estimated they would pass Caucasians before the end of the 21st century.

Now other factors play into this. Religion is one since Catholics are still dicey on birth control. Poverty in that kids actually leave the nest sooner and start their own families sooner when in poverty and part of that was once due to welfare incentives. Affluence has tended to be an indicator of fewer children for a long time. It was once considered gosh for women to have more than two in some upper crust social circles during the Victorian era.

Add to the mix today the declining rates of testosterone due to consumption of foods in plastics and I can certainly see these trends continuing but for reasons beyond those of race, religion, and socio-economic class.

And now that kids don't date, have nowhere to go dancing, can't afford the movies or a nice dinner out, and live on electronic devices the chances of getting to know someone else well enough to fall in love are greatly diminished. I'd say we may be screwed already and that the so called enlightened industrial nations are going to fall to ravages of a new dark age as the poor everywhere take them over by breeding rather than warfare.

The insanity at work here is permitting an illegal access to giving birth in a nation where you are declared a citizen because of ownership of the property upon which you are born. That worked fine in the early years of the nation when population was needed. It is an unmitigated disaster now.

In Japan the National Government is paying for weekend social mixers at nice locations for young marriageable aged women and men in hopes of stimulating the birth rate.

Until someone figures out how to impregnate a woman via Facebook, email, or text, I'd say we're screwed as a species.

Those projections were off. Hispanics have already surpassed the black population wise. It just depends how you define Hispanic because if you are born in the USA you are not Hispanic technically, but people have been conditioned to check that box although some Mestizos check white. Most Harnizos and Castizos check white especially with a white dad.

Via self reporting Americans by country of origin, 1) Germany, 2) Mexico, 3) Ireland.
Regarding the inability to socialize it also exists outside of the home. 90% of people at the gym have their ear buds in and are checked out socially. They are playing around on social media and there are actual humans right there if front of them.

Roger that! The group I was a part of in the late 70's was looking at how the shifts politically might occur. It's not an accident that the Democrats are heavily pushing racial animosities and stressing victimization. Traditional Hispanic Americans tend to be very conservative. African Americans in the 70's still came from religiously conservative families. The group back then felt that African Americans with affirmative action in place would take a larger role in the middle class and that they would eventually align themselves in greater numbers with the Republican party. Changes however in welfare lagged and the family structures of most Americans became less nuclear so that transition hasn't happened in any significant %'s although those which have assimilated more into the middle class do reflect a shift in political allegiance. Hispanic families whose roots have been planted in the United States for several generations, especially Cubans and Mexican Americans in the Southwest, have long been more inclined to the Republican party.

That however has been dwarfed by the number of illegals who are vastly under educated and therefor not ready for easy assimilation and upward mobility. They have a language barrier, can't blend socially, and are an undue burden upon the nation. Permitting their access has been a form of passive suicide for our culture and the blame on both sides of the aisle is extensive. Those seeking cheap labor were sated at taxpayer expense.

There are no easy answers, but if you think of the country as a ship of state, we have had a breach in our hull. We can patch that breach until repairs are made and while the bilge pumps can still keep us afloat. Or, we can do nothing and founder.
