My only fear of that would be as you guys say on this forum, that would change the rules. If the president can't declare a national emergency to get around Congress would that open the door to future abuse of it?

I'm weary of the action as well. I do think though that the SC would quickly weigh in on the topic and provide clarification as to what would qualify for a national emergency. I could see them saying a half million apprehensions a year at the border qualifies while cautioning about this use of power.
