My only fear of that would be as you guys say on this forum, that would change the rules. If the president can declare a national emergency to get around Congress would that open the door to future abuse of it?

These politicians still haven't realized they are not dealing with another politician. Their usual tactics don't work against him.

Please, please, please let Pelosi confirm this question and her subsequent answer. If she does it would be political suicide after standing up there with Schumer last night and asking Trump to separate the border issue from the budget. It would flat out prove she was being dishonest about her intentions last night.

it sets a bad precedent. Just like the nuclear option with Harry Reid. I do not support Trump declaring emergency.

I'm weary of the action as well. I do think though that the SC would quickly weigh in on the topic and provide clarification as to what would qualify for a national emergency. I could see them saying a half million apprehensions a year at the border qualifies while cautioning about this use of power.

Sounds like Schumer verifying what happened. Also, Republicans want cameras back in the meetings, saying dems are lying about what took place.

This is amazing. All these Democrats were perfectly fine with building a wall/fence/barrier before Trump ran for president. Suddenly today they are all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

of course it would. I'd imagine that court challenges would be heard regarding that pretty quickly.

That is exactly what happened.

I think both sides are totally f-ed up.

It's not a wall that we need, it's a reasonable and logical comprehensive immigration policy. The wall without such a policy is worthless. Such a policy without the wall is workable.

Problem is that the democrats see a wave of immigrant instant citizens as instant democrat voters. And so do republicans.

Should of had a playboy model in there, he doesn't pull out of those.

Explain why the wall is working in places we have it, if we don't "have comprehensive immigration policy"? The walls are working, even without a comprehensive immigration policy. Could they work better with a more clear and enforced immigration policy? Of course but the wall is actually a protection even when the other party is sitting in the White house and controlling Congress and decides to catch and release. The wall will still be in place and reducing those numbers just as they have in the cities where we have a wall.

replace catch and release with catch and return + wall + no sanctuary cities + continue to fund ICE = winner

anything less than that is substandard and irresponsible governance....

I think he schedules a date to start rounding up the dreamers.
