He took over at the pinnacle of Huskie Football. There was only way to go from there and that was down. NIU wasn't going to Access Bowls every year. You "fans" should follow Alabama. Then your unrealistic expectations have a chance to be met every year.

Not getting embarrassed every year in a bowl game is an unrealistic expectation?

Even if NIU would have won a bowl this year, the same "fans" would be bitching that they didn't win by enough or that the other team sucked. It's never enough. If NIU doesn't win by 50, then it was a disgrace. NIU won a MAC Championship this year. They have won 7 of 9 division championships and 4 of 8 MAC Championships. Those are not easy even in the MAC. If it was more teams would have done it. Yes the MAC is not a great conference, it is also the one with the smallest budgets. NIU's
sports budget is in the bottom half of the MAC. Yet these "fans" think NIU should be competing and dominating P5 schools with budgets triple their size. I am disappointed when NIU doesn't do well, but I also realistic about what NIU is. Until the student numbers go up, alumni step up and support NIU, and fans actually go to the games, NIU needs to concentrate on winning the MAC, a conference of their peers.

I disagree. Most on here just want to see NIU finally win a bowl game, or at a minimum, not get crushed again.

At least cover the spread.
