Imagine the notches are removed and a player runs into a wall where a notch had been. The players attorney would hammer UC and it's insurer with the "Notches were for safety and you removed them!"

I always thought that removing the first few rows of seats was the only aspect that improved safety, and the notches were implemented not as a safety measure but to allow a regulation soccer field. I hope we can fill in the notches while leaving the rest of the wall intact... I believe that would satisfy most people.

It was a safety measure as well as helping with soccer since the corner of the end zone didn't really offer much room for players to stop after they left the end zone. We did get the Mardy play, but I will admit I'm surprised there weren't a few injuries crashing into the wall.

The safety thing was just excuse so the administration didn't look like complete lickspittle for the Lindner family.

I agree. There's few billionaires I'd say this about, but what's good for the Lindners is good for the people (of Cincinnati).
