Good article that puts things squarely in the context of the mass transfers during the regime of Padgett's predecessor, Bennie Seltzer.

Clearly Padgett has his own problems. But it also looks like a pattern of difficulty in keeping quality basketball players on the Samford campus, a pattern that existed before Padgett took over as head coach.

Any ideas why??? I'm sure SoCon John has some thoughts, but he doesn't share them in this article.

Another question. 2 promising transfers were sitting out a year on the Samford bench, waiting to play next year: 6-5 200 Alabama Junior guard Brandon Austin (heir apparent to Denzel-Dyson) and 7-0 240 Senior center Ruben Guerrero from Marbella, Spain, by way of University of South Florida. Anybody know their status?

Bottom line is that it looks like a very difficult year ahead for Samford.
