Ok.... so what your saying is we should give some one the job regardless of ability to actually coach simply because they deserve it? Because clearly kiffin is a better coach than applewhite, so thats the only way i can explain your logic.

As far as the second party, what does applewhites thoughts on his coaching ability have to do with anything. I don’t give a crap what a coach thinks, it doesn’t change he fact he cant coach.

LOL... I never said he deserved it... No one ever knows who's going to pan out until he/she is given the opportunity.

But it alot people knew based on how he preformed as OC that is was not going to turn out well. That should have been a big clue, and kiffin doing well as Alabamas OC and being hungry to coach again should have been another big clue that he was the one we should have gone with.

You are benefiting from hindsight bias though. Nobody could have predicted that Lane was going to have the first year he did.

But everyone could have predicted it would be better than applewhites. It didn’t take a genius to know that applewhite was not on the same level as kiffin.
