RE: WAC basketball thread 12/18 - 12/25/17
In the end for SU its one game vs a still high major. SU still has impressive blow out wins vs D1 schools like Detroit-Mercy and EWU. They still only lost to UW by 4 and was in it neck and neck with WSU till the midway point of the 2H. It just further shows for conference play what will happen if SU cannot shoot effectively, but most of the time there is enough talent from the team to stay in games. Five players are still averaging double figures in ppg. Dont count on SU shooting 7/32 from 3 like they did vs Cal.

Id still put SU finishing 3rd or 4th in the WAC. Cal was the most dissapointing game of the young season but SU has plenty of good showings too. I think SU will be okay, but this game definitely brought the team and fans back to earth after winning 6 of the prior 7, and being undefeated at home.

The one positive was despite the rest of the team struggling, Kavas was able to still play like his normal self. Lots to look forward to with him.

The last 3 games before WAC play are home against Nicholls State, Grambling, and UC Riverside. All 3 mid majors with losing records. Perfect stretch to get back in order before opening conference play
