Seattle U about to tip off vs Cal as a -1.5 favorite. Lets go!!
Get it, SU!
UMKC with a tough loss in OT to Central Michigan and Chicago State lost by single digits to SIUE
SU with one of their worst shooting performances so far. 4/16 from 3 and 31% FG%.

Game has been even, neck and neck, so far. Cal had a last second 3 to make it 34-28 at half
WAC DN has crashed. Entire site. Just as second half was starting
How in the hell is SU losing by 20 to Cal!

Worst shooting night of season. Not getting to FT line (attempted a two in 2nd half). 7/29 from 3 right now.

Cal shooting 50% FG while SU 33.9%. Awful game.

SU cant play defense and if they cant shoot to stay in it or outshoot you, nothing will work. Worst game of season.
81-59 Cal wins. Awful.

Season low (didnt double check though) 21.9% from 3 going 7/32. 16 turnovers compared to 6 from Cal.

Most disappointing loss of the year. Wont beat any WAC school except maybe Chicago State with performances like that

Kavas only respectable performance as he cements himself further as the team leader. 20 points and 4/9 from 3. 50% from the field.

Two easy games coming up against Nicholls State and Grambling to get back on track
I missed watching tonight's Seattle game. The WACDN seemed to be down. When I have watched Seattle, they've looked good. BUT, I get impression the Redhawk's success is very much depended on their offense. Their defense doesn't appear to be good enough to carry them through bad shooting games; unlike at Cal State Bakersfield and at NMSU (for the most part). GCU is statistically a good defensive team but they've padded their stats against a bunch of cupcakes. GCU's defense will be put to a test the next couple weeks.

Defense wont help this team as it is nonexistant. Seattle U lives and dies by the 3. Going 7/32 wont help. You're exactly right. When the shooting isnt there SU struggles. Almost led to losses vs Idaho State and St Martins but they are bad enough SU could prevail. That wont work against Cal (or the WAC)

SU was the third best FT team in the nation coming into the game too, but only was 8/13 (only 2 FTA in 2H). 16 TOs compared to 6 by Cal doesnt help either

First 10 min of game no audio just picture. Last 10 min of 1H, halftime, and first 4 min of 2H it was perfect. Then whole site crashed till under 10 min in 2H and it was laggy with no good audio.

But its better than the entire stream going down the whole game like it did vs Washington last year. That was embarrassing, and pissed UW fans let SU hear it like it was the school's fault
What a disappointment this game was for WAC fans. Time to recover Seattle.
It was a surprising performance by Seattle U. And, not is a good way. Up until this Cal game, I thought Seattle U. was the team to watch in the WAC.

So far...

Chicago State's most impressive performance... vs. Presbyterian

Cal State Bakersfield's most impressive performance... @ Lamar

In the end for SU its one game vs a still high major. SU still has impressive blow out wins vs D1 schools like Detroit-Mercy and EWU. They still only lost to UW by 4 and was in it neck and neck with WSU till the midway point of the 2H. It just further shows for conference play what will happen if SU cannot shoot effectively, but most of the time there is enough talent from the team to stay in games. Five players are still averaging double figures in ppg. Dont count on SU shooting 7/32 from 3 like they did vs Cal.

Id still put SU finishing 3rd or 4th in the WAC. Cal was the most dissapointing game of the young season but SU has plenty of good showings too. I think SU will be okay, but this game definitely brought the team and fans back to earth after winning 6 of the prior 7, and being undefeated at home.

The one positive was despite the rest of the team struggling, Kavas was able to still play like his normal self. Lots to look forward to with him.

The last 3 games before WAC play are home against Nicholls State, Grambling, and UC Riverside. All 3 mid majors with losing records. Perfect stretch to get back in order before opening conference play
Cal State Bakersfield is getting handled by Delaware... 72-54 with about two minutes to play.
Delaware over Cal State Bakersfield 76-62. Not a good week for the WAC so far.

U. of Delaware actually. I understand CSUB allowed UD 33 FTs!!! Sounds like they laid an egg, or like Bob Wallace in 'White Christmas' phrased it, a "...Vermont volleyball!"

Time for some holiday brandy after hearing that news.

Opps... I don't know why I had Vermont on the brain. Changed it.

I’ll ask the Lopes to try extra hard and knock off the mighty 3-8 Longwood Lancers from the Big South tomorrow. Arizona State handled them rather easily earlier this week.

It’s doubtful that GCU can contribute to our conference win column against non-WAC opponents when they visit Louisville the following game. Sigh...
