They are Duke. They could lose by 100+ points to the "School of the Blind" and they would still get ranked ahead of us.

But I won't be a bit surprised if (1) UC is ranked behind Duke, and even if (2) UC stays stationary at #8 and some other program vaults us in the polls.

And hopefully I'm wrong and X is at 5 and we're at 6 with Duke in our rear-view mirror.

While I generally agree...you just have to look at Purdue vs Rutgers, MSU vs IU, and who DOOK, KU, and AZ lost to this weekend to understand what BS it all really is.

The preemptive outrage is puzzling to me. I did a quick scan of released AP ballots - UC was listed 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7 on the ten I could find. That's plenty of respect, and sure points to a solid #6. And I'm not sure of your point about Purdue and Michigan State. They each won close games against not-so-great opponents. You can cherry pick our schedule and point to similar outcomes - it happens to the best during the course of a season.
