Does Rice still have 1 open scholarship this year, or was it given to a walk-on? Does anyone know whether AJ Lapray was granted a 6th year of eligibility, or whether he was denied, or whether it is still pending? Bishop Mency and Dylan Jones are both completing their eligibility.

That should be it for the recruiting for the upcoming class. It also probably means that Lapray and Jones are likely graduate seniors (there was some talk that one or both of them might have 2 years of eligibility remaining).

I count 12 scholarship players on the current team (or possibly 13 if one of the walk-ons has been put on scholarship for this year). Jones, Lapray and Mency are all seniors so that's either 3 or 4 open scholarships (but if a walk-on is on scholarship this year, he's probably not on scholarship next year).

Of course attrition can always create more open scholarships later. We know all too much about that.
