Jason Butikofer in his 22 months as AD never said anything like that in his tenure and interim AD Debbie Corum who took over a month ago has not either. Below is a sample of Butikofer on the Big Sky, he hardly sounds pessimistic about the Big Sky or SUU's place in it here.

A Weber St message board acknowledges that I was on the right track with a BIG Sky split, as some posters reported on a meeting with the Big Sky Commish and Weber St AD. This was also reported by a paper in Southern Utah. Thought I posted it here. What I was wrong about is the WAC/Big Sky reorganization. The WAC is no longer needed for an FBS moveup. But you will never admit you are wrong about anything.

I just skimmed this whole thread and all I saw was message board speculation, same as here. Did I miss something?

In the big picture, I personally believe NoDak is correct. The Big Sky and the Summit are both vortexes of suck, and the only chance any school in either conference have of getting in a less sucky situation is to realign like schools with like schools, which also happens to line up relatively neatly geographically. The problem is, I never see much real evidence that any of the schools involved are thinking this way, and all NoDak's "proof" always involves links to other message boards where other Internet schlubs are kicking the same garbage around as we are.

The poster wasn't at the meeting, but he acknowledged that a split was coming from his contacts. I had posted in a previous thread that a research/commuter split was coming, and that board got very upset at me, like this board. That thread was an acknowledgement from the BSC commish and the Weber St AD that a split was coming, according to Weber St fans.
