RE: ODU will open as LU's first FBS home game
I'm a little confused about Liberty's two transition seasons. Is this 2017 going to be declared as the first year of Liberty transitioning from FCS to FBS or is 2018. I thought you were required to play so many FBS teams at home the first year of transitioning and then thought that number had to increase the second season of transition. I'm a little sketchy about the details, though I have read them a few years ago, but the one thing I do remember is that the first season of transitioning, any FBS teams you play, must count that game as an FCS game. Then during the second season of transitioning, they can count your game as an FBS game. All this is used for is bowl eligibility.

However, because you guys have no FBS opponents this upcoming season coming to Liberty, I'm wondering if this will be year one of transition for you guys or will it be 2018?
