Congrats to ODU for being the LU home FBS opener. Reading posts on the ODU board in the past, there were favorable comments from fans prior to the announcement. It should be a popular and close game.
I'm pumped to play ODU and I hope it is a regular occurrence. We both could use an FBS rival and a cross-state rivalry has the makings to be special.

Just checked the ODU board, some sizzling, teeming statements to date which is to be initially suspected. One can hope the disdain will lessen and play between the lines comes into focus.

Good buddy and big ODU donor is pumped about being the first FBS team in. He's already asking me to get he and the wife the best seats in the house.

On reading the post on the ODU site about LU being scheduled, there is a fairly even number who endorse the game and the about half who don't. I would think that is a good ratio.
I don't mind some animosity from an opposing fansbase. If everyone shrugged their shoulders I would be a bit surprised and disappointed. I'd love to develop some additional dates on the calendar witht he Monarchs. This feels a bit like the ODU AD doing us a solid.
At this point most CUSA fans still dont realize that Liberty will be FBS by the time they play.

Also Liberty at some point would be an obvious 2nd choice addition
to C-USA to give ODU a rival if CUSA loses a few teams to the American.
It is good that some people are upset by the matchup. It adds a storyline and stokes the fires if rivalry. At the same time, thise who support the game show the potential if a great and friendly game, also stoking the fires of rivalry. ODU will become Liberty's most played game in time.

I love Boca and 04-clap2 for playing a game there and a return to LU.

A shift is occurring from making all the excuses for not playing LU as has been stated ad nauseam on csnbbs, to approaching the play on the field. A natural progression.

Let's wait and see how much LU is paying us to play at Lynchburg before you suggest it's a favor.

Ahhh, smack has already started with ODU 15 months before kickoff. Favor, what favor?

Dont count on it yet we dont have an ooc opening until 2020

If we do a 1-1 that may not happen for 4 or 5 years.

From Daytona, it's a shade under a 4 hour drive. I'll take it when and if it comes. And Boca is one very unique city.
Looking forward to it.
Will take the two hour trip from Richmond, go to a terrific football venue, stay overnight at the Craddock-Terry with the family after enjoying a great postgame meal at Waterstone . Nothing about this trip, including the matchup, is bad. Liberty gave us a heck of a game in Norfolk that we were lucky to win. That your move up, combined with this terrific schedule you have crafted, will literally explode heads in Harrisonburg is the icing on the cake.

Congratulations!
The UVA deal includes:
-500k from UVA for the game at UVA 2018
-700k in 2019
-Liberty pays 150k for the game in Lynchburg
-And there is a 1 million dollar buyout to change the contract. So I think it's safe to say UVA will play that game in Lynchburg.
I was thinking there was no way they would play the game in Lynchburg till I read about the million dollar cancel fee.
Contracts are broken all the time. If they want out they'll negotiate an escape fee and Liberty will go along, cause you'll want to play them in the future. Works both ways.

I doubt they'll budge that much. The contract is set up like that to avoid canceling.
