Bailiff had good relations with many Texas high school coaches, lots of connections that got him some of the his recruits. Since he's gone, I'm not surprised with the defections from this class. Bloomgren will show what he can do on the recruiting front once he settles in. I'll be accused of being a Bailiff fan/troll just because I posted this, but that's my theory. Recruiting was arguably his biggest strength, so no surprise we're having a small bump in the road here.

Kind of why I said Texas recruiting ties were important, and why I would keep a couple of guys off the old staff for continuity.

I have another take too. Bloomgren clearly has a different philosophical approach than Bailiff. I can see guys who liked Bailiff's personality being somewhat turned off by Bloomgren's.

Transition years usually are bad for recruiting. That's not why you make a change.
