The main thing the prep school does is give them a chance to bring marginal students up to academy standards.

The ability to have so many players on the squad mainly gives them more people to hold dummies so they can get more reps in, which obviously contributes to their being able to do a better job of perfecting execution. Of those 185 people they have, probably 100 have no chance ever to see the field, except maybe a cameo on their senior day. And of the 85, there probably aren't more than half of them that we would have offered. But it does help to be able to run the same drill more times at the same time.
