It’s interesting that people seem convinced that the mls is a Ponzi scheme or bubble. But they seem to ignore that a lot of people have been saying that about the nfl and NBA for awhile also. The only relevant fact when it comes to sports franchises though is that they are part of a very tightly controlled monopoly that is very difficult to get into. They maintain their value due entirely to scarcity. It’s the one business where even having all the money in the world does not guarantee being able to open your own franchise.
