Add in possibly development from Pilavious. The following year we may add Vaughan. Depending on the player, another grad transfer might be ideal to allow for the development of the young guys. Hard to see another wing or point guard earning time for the next couple years.

I've never stood next to or near Pilavious, but someone that posts on here claims that he has and that the guy is not any taller than 6'-4" at most. I can tell by looking at him that he is not at all brawny, heavy, or what I would call ruggedly built. I can't picture him covering someone like 6'-8" Justin Johnson from WKU, or even our own 4 & 5 guys (Brandan or Porter).

Depending on what Jones is able to do recruiting wise between the end of this season and the beginning of next season, it may end up where he needs to find another transfer to replace Porter after next season, or to back him up next season.

How many skilled 6-10 players or taller have we played this year and how many are we expected to play? I'm not sure I can think of one off the top of my head that I worried Brandan could not guard.

What has ODU's strength of schedule been thus far this season? If having a good record against that level of competition alone is what we should view as acceptable then they are right where they need to be.

As for how many 6'-10" players we are expected to play going forward ... that is a bit of a loaded question. If ODU is fortunate enough to make the NCAA Tournament then I would expect to see them encounter some for sure, especially if they make it beyond the first round which I'm sure we all hope that they would.

It's really kind of a Catch 22 isn't it? If a team like ODU is good enough to make it into games involving the better teams they will need them to match up with those taller players better. If on the other hand they are going to reside in the realm of CBI and Vegas 16 Tournaments then they are less likely to have those issues and what they have had recently will suffice.

No further comments about Pilavious?
