At times a more enhanced skill set beyond just being a jack of all trades is needed. It's like the difference between using a Leatherman multi-tool or using the precise tool for the job at hand. Nothing wrong with having a legitimate point guard (or any other position/tool) in the tool box for when the need arises to utilize that specific skill.

You mean like a defensive specialist?

That would certainly be one circumstance, and it could be from a smaller, quicker guy or from a much larger one. Duffy Samuels (like a fly at a picnic) comes to mind as a smaller guy that fit that billing. Or it could be the time a big guy like Sam Harris was needed to physically match up defensively with 7'-2" Roy Hibbert in the game where ODU upset Georgetown in DC. That game was instrumental in helping ODU get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. I could be mistaken, but I believe that Georgetown went to the Final 4 that season.

During the 2007 season we best Final Four team Georgetown and in 2006 we beat another Final Four team GMU. Then 2011 we beat another FF team VCU, but lost first round NCAA game to Butler. They were the runner-up that year. We need to get back.
