Minny made a panic decision...Dick Pitino just took them 8-23...I bet they wouldn't mind Tubby coming back with Austin and Andre Hollins, beating UCLA in the NCAAs.

That's like saying Kentucky would've wanted Tubby back after Gillispie. Nope. They hired someone else.

moreover, Pitino Jr's only decent Minny team won the NIT title with Tubby's kids...

By the way, why are you talking about Pitino Jr.? He was a worse hire than Tubby for Minnesota. But it doesn't change the fact Tubby is a bad hire for Memphis.

Since 1975 (modern era of college hoops), Minnesota has a 44% winning record in the B10. If you exclude the vacated seasons from their scandals, they have a 33% record in the B10. Tubby had a 43% record there. Heck, Clem was cheating and he was their best coach in the history of the program - and he only won 46%.

To set the bar at 50% in the B10 for Minnesota is ridiculous. They've had 2 seasons in the last 20 years above 50%.

They've made 7 NCAA tourneys that were not vacated. Tubby has 3 of those. Haskins was their most successful coach. (Of course, that ended with his 7 year show cause.) After Clem, Tubby is the only one to have any success there.
