It seems like they had a lot of turnover the year he left. Wondering if it had something to do with the coaching staff. I wonder why he didn't try and transfer? He would be a RS So now if he did.

That's what he'd be for the 2016-17 season yeah. It's possible he didn't want to sit out a year and went the Juco route instead in order to keep playing.
