Louisville doesn't need to persuade the NCAA, it needs to persuade the ACC and the Aresco LEague.

I commented on his blog, asking if this was from sources or just him guessing. WE'll see.

The reason that was ok is due to the fact the WCC does not participate in FBS football.

Not the WCC, the WAC. The conference with Idaho and New Mexico State. The one that had Kent Benson as commissioner. They were ready to welcome Boise State's Olympic sports, before the FBS WAC fell apart.

The WAC is the conference they ( Boise ) left for the MWC, and the WCC ( West Coast Conference ) that currently has Gonzoga, Pepperdine, BYU, Saint Mary's, and others was the conference that was going to let them place their olympic sports in while playing football in the Big East as to was SanDiego State. If I am wrong I apologize but I don't think I am here, but at this time it is really moot for the NCAA is not going to help anyone out here, and they do have a rule that will not allow this move.

No, Boise was going to the Big West with SD St. and Hawaii.

The original plan was for Boise to play olympic sports in the WAC and football in the Big East. When the WAC got raided again by the MW, CUSA, and SB--it looked too unstable to survive. Thats when Boise began lobbying the Big West for admittance. There is no NCAA rule preventing schools from playing football in one FBS conference and basketball in another FBS conference. As everyone can clearly see, the WAC was an FBS conference at this time (12/07/2011--see linked WAC press release below).

DENVER, COLO. - Commissioner Karl Benson announced on Wednesday that Boise State University will return to the Western Athletic Conference as a full member in all sports except football effective July 1, 2013.
