San Diego State dismisses USC transfer Dillon Baxter
By Gary Klein

February 29, 2012, 5:16 p.m.

Former USC running back Dillon Baxter has been dismissed from the program at San Diego State, according to this report by Brent Schrotenboer of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Baxter was one of the nation's most highly regarded prospects coming out of San Diego Mission Bay High in 2010, but USC Coach Lane Kiffin suspended him twice during his freshman season and removed him from the program midway through the 2011 season.

Baxter was hoping for a fresh start closer to home.
But San Diego State Coach Rocky Long told the Union-Tribune that Baxter's dismissal was made for "various reasons."
